Marketing & Collaboration

(1) VisionX recently reached multiple General agent agreements with several industrial sectors such as Steel, LED and Solar Panel, and regions such as Jiangsu, Jianxi. VNX will penetrate each Chinese market through the targeted sectors.

(2) The VisionX team was invited to participate in the Sino-US investment summit at University of San Jose, USA. During the meeting, Dr. Gu presented the VNX Industry AI development Platform and AI training platform to investors from both China and the US.

(3) U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) issued NOA for DataonomySM

VisionX received the Notice of Allowance (NOA) from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), which shows that DataonomySM has survived the opposition period following publication in the Official Gazette.

  1. VisionX received the invitation to compete in the finals of the 2019 International Talent Innovation and Entrepreneurship Projects Competition. The competition is hosted by The China Association for Science and Technology (CAST) and is the largest event for overseas innovation and entrepreneurship. This year, the organizing committee received 452 valid projects from 28 countries around the world. After the preliminary blind review, members of the online video judging panel selected top 70 projects approved by the organizing committee of the competition to enter into the finals. We are proud to say that the VisionX project was invited to participate in the final project defense and awards ceremony held in Harbin on June 27–30, 2019.

  2. Gorgeous Beauty Salon, located in Silicon Valley, is the first salon to accept cryptocurrency. As of May 30th, 2019, the salon started to accept VNX and DBC tokens for its services. The owner shared three key reasons for accepting our currencies:

  • Given Silicon Valley is the world center of AI technology and business, it is paramount for the salon to keep up with innovation and accept AI related coins.

  • In the past three months, the price of VNX has increased more than 10 times. Accepting VisionX as payment will be a good investment long term.

  • Salon service fees are relatively small, so from the business owner’s perspective, it is better for the salon to accept cheaper tokens in comparison to Bitcoin.

VisionX is located in Silicon Valley and as it continues to provide more AI and data solutions, there will be more individuals who earn VNX tokens through community and data contribution. This announcement is exciting news as it introduces an alternative use for VNX, especially as we seek to expand to other commercial and retail outlets.

Community Development

(1) We have cooperated with Nanjing University Entrepreneurship Club to set up a technical community team: Nanjing Flawless Technology. The team specializes in marketing AI visual inspection solutions and creating a market environment for building AI industrial intelligent manufacturing collaboration platform ecology. The Vision X-based “Flawless Technology” project won second place in the 2019 Columbia University Model Entrepreneur Competition (National Region) among 12 entries and has been promoted to the national competition.


The Columbia Simulator Entrepreneurship Competition is a global simulation entrepreneur competition created by Columbia Ventures’ The Venture For All (VFA) to stimulate ambitions of students around the world and support their pursuit of potential business passion. VisionX not only helps the technological enhancement of “Flawless Technology”, but also promotes VisionX’s visual inspection technology.

(6) On May 26, the strategic advisor for the Chinese community: Mr. Nie introduced the commercial value of the VNX project to the Nanjing Blockchain Alliance (BCCN) and discussed the opening ceremony of the VNX community.

(7) The construction of the Chinese community team began with the university students in Nanjing. The management team is in the process of hiring.

Tech Development

Distributed AI Framework:

  • Based on the comments of reviewers, we enhanced the ICIAR2019 with the generalization of FL framework and additional experiment results and created the camera-ready 12 pages full paper for the publication of Computer Science in Springer.

  • VisionX has completed the first version of a distributed AI framework consisting of Federated learning, Parallelism (Data and Model) and Transfer learning, on the decentralized DBC AI cloud. The special repository in Github has been created for source codes of a distributed AI framework. This has also been uploaded into Github for review. Once finishing the review, VNX will be open to the community for participation.

Defect Detection (DataonomySM):

  • The technology of defect cause analysis has been developed. There have been only a few research work related to root cause analysis of image defects. This technology can be used to automatically find the cause of systemic defects in product lines. As the basic technology of image analysis, it can also extract and classify image logo and watermarking. The following results show the applications of image watermarking extraction and removal:

  • In order to accelerate the edge device deployment of Visual inspection, VisionX acquired the latest cross-platform deployment Toolkits: OpenVINO provided by Intel. With OpenVINO, VNX will be able to seamlessly deploy inference models into any type of operating systems with GPU/CPU or other computing devices.

Partnership with Top Three GPU Provider in Focus as VisionX’s Proprietary Distributed AI Framework Gains Ground

VisionX recently designed and released a novel distributed AI framework consisting of Federated learning, Parallelism (Data and Model) and Transfer learning, on a decentralized DBC AI cloud. This technological breakthrough in the AI industrial field has been highly recognized from both of academia and industry, as our research paper was accepted by the 2019 International Conference on Image Analysis & Recognition (refer to the the details in the biweekly report).

Our work will be considered as an efficient and scalable AI framework by one of top three GPU providers in the world, as we are working out steps towards a monumental partnership. Distributed AI (DAI) incorporates swarm intelligence to various classes of technologies which address specific markets and problem solve by providing a distributed solution.

According to Global Market Insights, Inc. “The pharmaceutical end-use segment in the AI in manufacturing market accounted for over 8% of the industry share. The companies are using AI technology to improve efficiencies in biotech manufacturing and process development to improve their gross margins.”

Open Letter to the Community

On behalf of VisionX, I am writing an open letter to the community as I vowed to be completely transparent about our process and share exactly what we are doing strategically. Spending my entire career enveloped in the financial realm, I am predominately concerned with the usage and allocation of funding, calculating runway and forecasting revenue projections against our cash burn.

I released the framework of the 4 waves, which has now turned into 5, in a methodical and structured way. The waves have been planned for the last two months with the VisionX Board and a couple members from DeepBrainChain’s management. As you know, today our buy-back and burn program was officially released. It was a significant dollar commitment. To be clear, the majority of our funding is currently absorbed and committed to developing our proprietary AI tech.

This is why the second wave was planned and released in this order. I had previously mentioned the use case for a buy-back on twitter to provide transparency to the community. To further clarify, we never previously mentioned or released a buyback program. We had a burner program listed in our white paper, which will be used in conjunction with our newly instated buy-back to maximize reducing the supply. Let me repeat it here, a buy-back is an extremely powerful tool. Here is the excerpt from Twitter:

“Buying back 30% of the circulation exudes the utmost confidence in our business model.”

“Return on Equity- deploying the buyback is an investment in our company. We believe our cash and the projected returns buying back VNX far outweighs other investment opportunities in conjunction with our tech and revenue sourcing”

Additionally, I shared an image about one of the potential partners we are trying to onboard and form a partnership with: JC Penny. To make it clear to the community, this is only one major partnership that I am trying to solidify, and it’s a relatively new development. I provided one thread of communication to instill trust in the community. I wanted to exemplify a small piece of dialogue exchanged and share the marketing efforts we are making behind the scenes. To make it clear, we are in talks with a multitude of Fortune 500 Companies.

VisionX Announces VNX Buy-Back Program

Token Buy-Back Program

  • The management of VisionX has approved a repurchase agreement with the option to buy-back and burn up to 30% of the circulating supply of the VNX token over a 24 month period, effectively immediately. In years 3 and 4, VisionX has the option to buy-back and burn up to 30% of additional coins released into circulation, in accordance with the terms listed in our white paper.

  • The buy-back and burn program has been approved, effectively immediately.

  • This buy-back has no implications impacting our burner program stated in our white paper.

  • All repurchases of VNX token will be performed on Secondary Markets.

  • The buy-back and burn repurchase agreement sets forth the option to remove up to 30% of VNX token from current circulating supply in years 1 & 2, starting May 23rd, 2019 and ending May 22nd, 2021.

  • In years 3 and 4, VisionX has the option to buy-back and burn 30% of any additional VNX token released into circulation, starting May 23rd, 2021 and ending May 22nd, 2023.

  • The decision to purchase VNX on the secondary markets could be accelerated or decelerated at anytime.

To Our Community

As we have seen through various and unwavering market conditions, the price volatility in digital market places are much higher than in traditional asset classes. The buy-back and burn program will inherently support the underlying growth and price stability of our token, VNX. Through the buy-back and burn mechanism, we are increasing the liquidity of VNX token by decreasing the overall supply, yielding lower price volatility.

Since the initial release of VNX token on the secondary market, the price had fallen precipitously from November of 2018 until March of 2019. Even after current prices, we view the market capitalization to be substantially undervalued based on fast-tracking progress we have made through our product pipeline, technology and marketing fronts. As previously stated, this is the second of five strategic announcements that will be released in the short term. The VisionX ecosystem continues to be grounded by the unwavering support and trust from our community. This buy-back cements our firm belief in our company’s vision and the continuity shared with the VisionX family.

  • As one of the founding members, the VisionX team helped to form the AI and Blockchain Technology Special Committee in Jiangsu Province of China. The committee belongs to Jiangsu Association for Science & Technology Innovation (JASTI), which serves more than 2,000 local companies and research institutes. As president of this committee, Dr. Harry Gu will utilize AI development resources, technologies, and solutions from VNX and DBC to support local companies with product innovation and business transformation.

  • The VisionX team won second place in the China Overseas Talent Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition among more than 30 teams in the US west coast region. VisionX demonstrated a large and viable potential market, innovative technology/product pipeline, and a solid core team. VisionX was also selected to participate in the final competition in China.

  • With the request from a system integrating company, VisionX is utilizing its global data collection network to start a large-scale and challenging facial image collection project. In this project, the VNX token will be used to reward the image providers (data miners).

  • VisionX hired David Mass join the team as CFO. David started his career at Fidelity Investments working with high net worth and prime brokerage clients. He has been working in Investment Management since transitioning to Big 4 Accounting. Currently at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, he has also been working in Blockchain innovation relating to trade execution, layering in Blockchain technology into the workplace and taking part in accretive cryptocurrency deals. David earned his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Delaware, double majoring in Accounting and Finance. He will focus on forming strategic partnerships, developing financial synergies, and driving marketing efforts for VisionX.

  • The paper submitted to ICIAR 2019 was accepted as an oral presentation and will be published by Springer in the Lecture Notes in Computer Science. The novel Federated Learning AI framework was considered an important technology for AI applications in the industry.

  • The model training algorithms in client and server sides have been developed for Federated Learning (FL) framework, mainly for visual inspection. VNX will release the source codes to the following VNX developer communication in the near future.

Defect Detection (DataonomySM):

  • Based on End-to-End modeling, VNX has started to develop the third version of Visual Inspection software product (VNX-III). Compared to the prior two, this version will have better accuracy, faster speed, and can easily be integrated into Windows-based systems.

  • With Nvidia TensorRT, VNX has been able to accelerate the deployment process from AI training platforms into real working environments.

  • Supermicro (SMC) invited VisionX as a partner to participate in the Supermicro Innovate event. As the top GPU server provider, SMC introduced standard and advanced GPU edge servers, which will be a good option for high-end client servers.

Visual Anomaly Inspection:

  • Cooperating with CCTEG, VNX created a product proposal for coal mining users to use in safety monitoring and regulation enforcement. The AI safety solution has the following features:

  • Real-time monitoring and intelligent analysis (AI) of underground workers in illegal operations with helmets, helping to reduce human operation and personnel costs

  • Low-cost RF real-time precise positioning of underground workers

  • Smartphone based automatic image recognition of violations, information push and escalation

  • General coal mine risk pre-control and accident management platform with extension of various intelligent safety detection functions

  • Optimized the accuracy and speed in OCR for product series number recognition.

AI-based prediction and preventive maintenance:

  • Environment Surveillance and Warning, Applied DeepAir: Deep Learning model to the prediction of the gas index and explored association with other features.

  • Smart AI Finance prediction: Acquired S&P 500 historical data up to 2019 and retrained the AI model for S&P 500. Begun to develop live demo system for AI based stock price prediction of S&P 500 index.

  • Bio-health Big Data: Combined Attention Mechanism in Deep Learning with the Multi-Task Deep Neural-Network (MT-DNN); proposed a novel method for multiple labeling task in order to improve individualized breast cancer patient’s treatment plan.

  1. The VisionX team is working to update the VNX white paper and the road map in collaboration. The updated version will enhance the blockchain technology and VNX based token economy.

  2.  VisionX launched the DAPP development team and has begun to design and develop a distributed AI training framework in cooperation with DBC and Asus research team. The innovative AI training framework is primarily based on VNX federated learning framework for visual inspection. VNX will extend to a distributed AI solution framework for general tasks. VNX will also open the source codes to the VNX community and invite users and developers to use and enhance the framework.

Tech Development 

Distributed AI Framework:

  • VNX created a new team to design and develop a novel AI training framework, based on decentralized DBC AI cloud.

  • The initial prototype design has been finished, mainly based on the Federated Learning (FL) framework for visual inspection.

Defect Detection (Dataonomy):

  • In order to protect raw data of customers (especially for enterprise users) and encourage data contribution, the visual inspection team has successfully developed feature extraction and distributed training technology in the Federated Learning (FL) framework. The useful features from the raw data will be extracted in the client side before contributing to the cloud server. The base models trained from the features can reach the same performance as from raw data.

The above figure shows raw images of the texture defect samples (shown in the 1st column of the plot) and its extracted features from 4 different feature channels of the third convolutional layer of the pre-trained Inception V3 model.

  • VNX has developed the initial version of AI module to integrate into Hubrain’s Hu-Dra visual inspection system and confirmed the detection performance. Hu-Dra is a general-purpose visual inspection system.

  • With the request of the LED light chip vendor, VNX has developed the defect detection AI model with more than 99.9% accuracy and less than 5ms for each detection.

Visual Anomaly Inspection:

  • With the certified pieces of equipment from CCTEG, VNX issues the first AI solution for safety monitoring and regulation enforcement in coal mining sites.

  • Continued to improve the product auto-sorting system for a medical implant supplier and enhanced multiple object-identifying software via a new AI model.

  • Optimized the accuracy and speed in OCR for product series number recognition.

AI-based prediction and preventive maintenance:

  • Environment surveillance and warning: obtained and cleaned 4 years of gas and gas associated data from more than 100 underground coal mining sites; started to develop the prediction model of the gas index and explore the association with other features.

  • Smart AI finance prediction: developed stock price prediction AI model, which can predict the closing price of the PS500 index with an accuracy of 97%. The AI model is using long and short-term memory (LSTM) of finance timeline and Deep Learning framework, which will provide smart financial investment advice in the near future.

  • Bio-health big data: designed the Multi-Task Deep Neutral-Network (MT-DNN) for multiple labeling task in order to improve individualized breast cancer patient’s treatment plan.

Based on a newly established data collection network in Japan, VisionX has recently finished AI data collection project, ordered by a global giant in the space of office automation. VNX was able to collect high-quality image samples based on the client’s requirements within a very short time period, demonstrating the efficiency of VNX’s de-centralized data crowdsourcing approach. In the future, the VNX token will be used as a reward for AI data miners and circulated globally.

DeepBrain Chain has signed a partnership agreement with TaoBase. TaoBase is an innovative social network platform that fosters cross-border thinking. Through user scenario requirements, the platform precisely connects enterprises, people, service, and resources. With the goal of helping entrepreneurs and SMBS grow, TaoBase taps into the billion dollar industry of talent, entrepreneurs, and SMB markets by integrating AI-powered international directory with online and offline high-quality product and service resources. TaoBase will use its platform to bring VNX enterprises customers who are seeking AI solutions globally.

VisionX has entered a partnership with Silicon Valley Innovation and Entrepreneurship Forum (SVIEF) to provide a full-packaged AI training camp. SVIEF is the largest China-US forum in Silicon Valley. VisionX will use AI projects currently being developed by the team to provide hands-on, challenging AI development experience for students.

VisionX has partnered with K12 organizations to promote K12 AI education. VisionX will use its AI development platform and resources to design and launch K12 AI summer camp in Silicon Valley. This camp will aim to provide AI training, promote STEM learning among students and promote the DBC and VNX community globally.

  • The visual inspection team has successfully deployed the Federated Learning (FL) framework on DBC network and conducted the distributed training task for visual inspection model.

  • The framework can be used in a wide array of AI applications in the future.

  • VNX has started to design and develop the AI module to integrate into Hubrain’s Hu-Dra visual inspection system. Hu-Dra is a general-purpose visual inspection system, consisting of the following hardware and software features:

  • This product has been designed as a multi-functional image inspection system. It offers different combinations of features, which allow for meeting the inspection requirements for various kinds of workpieces.

  • A variety of convenient features such as rotational position tracking and polygonal windows is available to enable flexible inspection settings.

  • All of the professional experience and know-how of a specialized manufacturer for image inspection have been incorporated in this product to ensure that fast and accurate inspections can be made.

  • A monochrome two-dimensional camera can be connected as standard. Multiple cameras including one-dimensional cameras, color cameras, and high-precision cameras can also be connected as additional options.

  • A detected defect can be highlighted with a frame and can also be zoomed in.

  • A number of defect images can be stored in the image log, which allows you to continue the inspection while keeping a defect image displayed on the screen.

  • The Windows operating system ensures easy file management and allows the communication capability to be utilized.

  • The workpiece registration capability allows various kinds of workpieces to be inspected by easily selecting them.

  • After finishing the integration, Hu-Dra will have the AI based defect detection function and VNX can expect to reach the high-volume sale for licensing.

  • As an AI solution platform, the collection, annotation and organization of all kinds of data is an important service of VisionX. Recently, VisionX completed the network of collection and annotation of data in Japan and other East Asian countries, generating its first revenue from data crowdsourcing service. Through this, VisionX has also helped to build the DBC community from this network consisting of Japanese and overseas Chinese in Japan. 

  • DeepBrain Chain has signed a partnership agreement with the global data service organization: REFUNITE. REFUNITE will become an important part of VisionX’s decentralized data crowdsourcing on the platform and supply high efficiency data annotation work for VisionX’s visual inspection solutions.

  • VisionX’s partner MentorX has started the second phase of AI engineer internship based on DBC. VisionX will use AI projects currently being developed by the team to give interns hands-on, challenging AI developing experience. Meanwhile, as an open platform, VNX will open source parts of the result of any AI development to attract global VNX community to participate in the development of industry 4.0.

  • Conducted pre-research on gas index predictive technology from gas relevant data in the China Coal Technology Engineering Group case. As well as discussing the details and goals of the collaboration on tech development and research.

  • VNX is working with hardware manufacturer and provided first high-end commercialized medical implant auto-sorting system proposal to the leading medical implant giant in China. 

Tech Development 
 

Defect Detection (Dataonomy):

  • The visual inspection team completed development of the first AI smart quality inspection system based on Federated Learning(FL). This system can protect user’s data and lighten the computation burden on client end, and its framework has a wide application in the future. This in turn can lead to needs for DeepBrain Chain’s computing power.

  • The team submitted the latest research result to “ International conference of Image and Recognition“ (ICIAR2019) for publication.

  • VisionX’s AI software will be integrated into a quality inspection system. In order to whole sale VNX’s software, VisionX has designed and developed AI quality inspection module, based on Japanese partner Hubrain’s request, and such software is being integrated into Hu-Dra in the first phase. Hu-Dra has thousands of sales each year.

Visual Anomaly Inspection:

  • Design product auto-sorting system for medical implant supplier, developed multiple object-identifying software.

  • Using the latest Deep Learning model to optimize the accuracy and speed in object-identifying.

AI based preventive detection:

According to VNX 2019’s roadmap, VisionX assembled the AI prediction team, to start research on AI preventive detection technology and product development.

Based on client’s needs, the AI prediction team is currently researching the following topics:

  • Environment surveillance and warning: coal, gas outlook prediction; 

  •  Smart AI finance prediction: using long and short-term memory (LSTM) of finance timeline Deep Learning framework to conduct smart finance investment advice;

  • Bio-health big data: based on data discovery technology to develop individualized breast cancer patent’s treatment plan;

  • ECG heart attack AI diagnosis.

Marketing

Together with HuBrain, VisionX compared its AI imaged based quality inspection software to existing solution around the global market and as shown below VisionX is leading at technology, variegation and quality-price ratio front.

Agree to collaboration with Nanjing’s textile industry quality inspection integrator on developing a second generation of AI quality inspection technology together. Also agree on using DBC’s training platform to train for future quality inspection models.

Met with Taiwan FanYu’s quality inspection integrator to discuss the Taiwan and Mainland China market, demonstrate VNX software advantage and technology. 

Draft contract with the security breach technology team from China Coal Technology Engineering Group. Entering examine and approve process.

Tech Development

Defect Inspection (Dataonomy):

  • Trained the model for ceramic defect detection for top ceramic chip maker, with the initial accuracy of 95%

  • Created the base model of across industry and enhanced the Dataonomy with Federated learning framework

Visual Abnormity Inspection:

  • Partnered with HW vendor to design the imaging system for implant medical part vendor

  • Developed OCR solution for serial number recognition of product

  • Developed RNN based AI technology for Gas prediction in coal mine

Marketing


VisionX attended the 2019 NEPCON on invitation from our Japanese partner HuBrain. This year’s NEPCON was the biggest in Asia in the electronic technology and devices’ field, a total of more than 2,600 companies attended. VisionX team demonstrated image recognition technology based on AI that is used for defect detection.

Quality inspection integrators from Korea, Taiwan and Shenzhen were all showing interest and asked to become strategic partners with VisionX in order to represent VNX’s AI solution software in their respective sales area.

Investment Collaboration


 1. VisionX had further conversations with Sanlian Transportation. Together with our strategic partner, Anhui Sanlian University, VisionX will develop auto detection technology for vehicle violations using their visual inspection technology;
 
 2. VisionX spoke to the person in charge of a China state-owned corporation in the industrial and education industry, the said corporation’s material manufacturing factory needs VNX’s technology to realize smart inspection, raising the quality of their manufactured goods and reduce human resource costs;
 
 3. China Coal Technology Engineering Group and VisionX discussed further for the co-development of a project, reaching consensus on the goals, development period, resource needed and the market size for future;
 
 4. VisionX team visits once again the Shanghai Sanyou Med — a leading orthopedic medical implant company in China. VisionX examined their products and identified their needs from the visual inspection technology to confirm the next step and commence appropriate research for the project. Both parties will work closely together to power China’s medical device industry with AI.

Technology Development 


 1. Further optimize dataset and algorithm, lower the amount of data needed for training Base Model from 500 different sets to 50 different sets (ImageNet), using the corresponding 50 sets in different industries to create a cross-industry Base Model;

2. Conducted porcelain surface defect detection model training and raising inspection rate;
 
 3. Software development wise, using YOLO algorithm to conduct work goals and violation inspection at coal mines.
