Marketing & Collaboration

(1) VisionX recently reached multiple General agent agreements with several industrial sectors such as Steel, LED and Solar Panel, and regions such as Jiangsu, Jianxi. VNX will penetrate each Chinese market through the targeted sectors.

(2) The VisionX team was invited to participate in the Sino-US investment summit at University of San Jose, USA. During the meeting, Dr. Gu presented the VNX Industry AI development Platform and AI training platform to investors from both China and the US.

(3) U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) issued NOA for DataonomySM

VisionX received the Notice of Allowance (NOA) from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), which shows that DataonomySM has survived the opposition period following publication in the Official Gazette.

  1. VisionX received the invitation to compete in the finals of the 2019 International Talent Innovation and Entrepreneurship Projects Competition. The competition is hosted by The China Association for Science and Technology (CAST) and is the largest event for overseas innovation and entrepreneurship. This year, the organizing committee received 452 valid projects from 28 countries around the world. After the preliminary blind review, members of the online video judging panel selected top 70 projects approved by the organizing committee of the competition to enter into the finals. We are proud to say that the VisionX project was invited to participate in the final project defense and awards ceremony held in Harbin on June 27–30, 2019.

  2. Gorgeous Beauty Salon, located in Silicon Valley, is the first salon to accept cryptocurrency. As of May 30th, 2019, the salon started to accept VNX and DBC tokens for its services. The owner shared three key reasons for accepting our currencies:

  • Given Silicon Valley is the world center of AI technology and business, it is paramount for the salon to keep up with innovation and accept AI related coins.

  • In the past three months, the price of VNX has increased more than 10 times. Accepting VisionX as payment will be a good investment long term.

  • Salon service fees are relatively small, so from the business owner’s perspective, it is better for the salon to accept cheaper tokens in comparison to Bitcoin.

VisionX is located in Silicon Valley and as it continues to provide more AI and data solutions, there will be more individuals who earn VNX tokens through community and data contribution. This announcement is exciting news as it introduces an alternative use for VNX, especially as we seek to expand to other commercial and retail outlets.

Community Development

(1) We have cooperated with Nanjing University Entrepreneurship Club to set up a technical community team: Nanjing Flawless Technology. The team specializes in marketing AI visual inspection solutions and creating a market environment for building AI industrial intelligent manufacturing collaboration platform ecology. The Vision X-based “Flawless Technology” project won second place in the 2019 Columbia University Model Entrepreneur Competition (National Region) among 12 entries and has been promoted to the national competition.


The Columbia Simulator Entrepreneurship Competition is a global simulation entrepreneur competition created by Columbia Ventures’ The Venture For All (VFA) to stimulate ambitions of students around the world and support their pursuit of potential business passion. VisionX not only helps the technological enhancement of “Flawless Technology”, but also promotes VisionX’s visual inspection technology.

(6) On May 26, the strategic advisor for the Chinese community: Mr. Nie introduced the commercial value of the VNX project to the Nanjing Blockchain Alliance (BCCN) and discussed the opening ceremony of the VNX community.

(7) The construction of the Chinese community team began with the university students in Nanjing. The management team is in the process of hiring.

Tech Development

Distributed AI Framework:

  • Based on the comments of reviewers, we enhanced the ICIAR2019 with the generalization of FL framework and additional experiment results and created the camera-ready 12 pages full paper for the publication of Computer Science in Springer.

  • VisionX has completed the first version of a distributed AI framework consisting of Federated learning, Parallelism (Data and Model) and Transfer learning, on the decentralized DBC AI cloud. The special repository in Github has been created for source codes of a distributed AI framework. This has also been uploaded into Github for review. Once finishing the review, VNX will be open to the community for participation.

Defect Detection (DataonomySM):

  • The technology of defect cause analysis has been developed. There have been only a few research work related to root cause analysis of image defects. This technology can be used to automatically find the cause of systemic defects in product lines. As the basic technology of image analysis, it can also extract and classify image logo and watermarking. The following results show the applications of image watermarking extraction and removal:

  • In order to accelerate the edge device deployment of Visual inspection, VisionX acquired the latest cross-platform deployment Toolkits: OpenVINO provided by Intel. With OpenVINO, VNX will be able to seamlessly deploy inference models into any type of operating systems with GPU/CPU or other computing devices.

Marketing & Collaboration

  1. The VisionX team is working to update the VNX white paper and the road map in collaboration. The updated version will enhance the blockchain technology and VNX based token economy.

  2.  VisionX launched the DAPP development team and has begun to design and develop a distributed AI training framework in cooperation with DBC and Asus research team. The innovative AI training framework is primarily based on VNX federated learning framework for visual inspection. VNX will extend to a distributed AI solution framework for general tasks. VNX will also open the source codes to the VNX community and invite users and developers to use and enhance the framework.

Tech Development 

Distributed AI Framework:

  • VNX created a new team to design and develop a novel AI training framework, based on decentralized DBC AI cloud.

  • The initial prototype design has been finished, mainly based on the Federated Learning (FL) framework for visual inspection.

Defect Detection (Dataonomy):

  • In order to protect raw data of customers (especially for enterprise users) and encourage data contribution, the visual inspection team has successfully developed feature extraction and distributed training technology in the Federated Learning (FL) framework. The useful features from the raw data will be extracted in the client side before contributing to the cloud server. The base models trained from the features can reach the same performance as from raw data.

The above figure shows raw images of the texture defect samples (shown in the 1st column of the plot) and its extracted features from 4 different feature channels of the third convolutional layer of the pre-trained Inception V3 model.

  • VNX has developed the initial version of AI module to integrate into Hubrain’s Hu-Dra visual inspection system and confirmed the detection performance. Hu-Dra is a general-purpose visual inspection system.

  • With the request of the LED light chip vendor, VNX has developed the defect detection AI model with more than 99.9% accuracy and less than 5ms for each detection.

Visual Anomaly Inspection:

  • With the certified pieces of equipment from CCTEG, VNX issues the first AI solution for safety monitoring and regulation enforcement in coal mining sites.

  • Continued to improve the product auto-sorting system for a medical implant supplier and enhanced multiple object-identifying software via a new AI model.

  • Optimized the accuracy and speed in OCR for product series number recognition.

AI-based prediction and preventive maintenance:

  • Environment surveillance and warning: obtained and cleaned 4 years of gas and gas associated data from more than 100 underground coal mining sites; started to develop the prediction model of the gas index and explore the association with other features.

  • Smart AI finance prediction: developed stock price prediction AI model, which can predict the closing price of the PS500 index with an accuracy of 97%. The AI model is using long and short-term memory (LSTM) of finance timeline and Deep Learning framework, which will provide smart financial investment advice in the near future.

  • Bio-health big data: designed the Multi-Task Deep Neutral-Network (MT-DNN) for multiple labeling task in order to improve individualized breast cancer patient’s treatment plan.

Marketing & Collaboration 

  • As an AI solution platform, the collection, annotation and organization of all kinds of data is an important service of VisionX. Recently, VisionX completed the network of collection and annotation of data in Japan and other East Asian countries, generating its first revenue from data crowdsourcing service. Through this, VisionX has also helped to build the DBC community from this network consisting of Japanese and overseas Chinese in Japan. 

  • DeepBrain Chain has signed a partnership agreement with the global data service organization: REFUNITE. REFUNITE will become an important part of VisionX’s decentralized data crowdsourcing on the platform and supply high efficiency data annotation work for VisionX’s visual inspection solutions.

  • VisionX’s partner MentorX has started the second phase of AI engineer internship based on DBC. VisionX will use AI projects currently being developed by the team to give interns hands-on, challenging AI developing experience. Meanwhile, as an open platform, VNX will open source parts of the result of any AI development to attract global VNX community to participate in the development of industry 4.0.

  • Conducted pre-research on gas index predictive technology from gas relevant data in the China Coal Technology Engineering Group case. As well as discussing the details and goals of the collaboration on tech development and research.

  • VNX is working with hardware manufacturer and provided first high-end commercialized medical implant auto-sorting system proposal to the leading medical implant giant in China.

Defect Detection (Dataonomy):

  • The visual inspection team completed development of the first AI smart quality inspection system based on Federated Learning(FL). This system can protect user’s data and lighten the computation burden on client end, and its framework has a wide application in the future. This in turn can lead to needs for DeepBrain Chain’s computing power.

  • The team submitted the latest research result to “ International conference of Image and Recognition“ (ICIAR2019) for publication.

  • VisionX’s AI software will be integrated into a quality inspection system. In order to whole sale VNX’s software, VisionX has designed and developed AI quality inspection module, based on Japanese partner Hubrain’s request, and such software is being integrated into Hu-Dra in the first phase. Hu-Dra has thousands of sales each year.

  • Environment surveillance and warning: coal, gas outlook prediction; 

  •  Smart AI finance prediction: using long and short-term memory (LSTM) of finance timeline Deep Learning framework to conduct smart finance investment advice;

  • Bio-health big data: based on data discovery technology to develop individualized breast cancer patent’s treatment plan;

  • ECG heart attack AI diagnosis.

VisionX attended the 2019 NEPCON on invitation from our Japanese partner HuBrain. This year’s NEPCON was the biggest in Asia in the electronic technology and devices’ field, a total of more than 2,600 companies attended. VisionX team demonstrated image recognition technology based on AI that is used for defect detection.

Quality inspection integrators from Korea, Taiwan and Shenzhen were all showing interest and asked to become strategic partners with VisionX in order to represent VNX’s AI solution software in their respective sales area.

Investment Collaboration


 1. VisionX had further conversations with Sanlian Transportation. Together with our strategic partner, Anhui Sanlian University, VisionX will develop auto detection technology for vehicle violations using their visual inspection technology;
 
 2. VisionX spoke to the person in charge of a China state-owned corporation in the industrial and education industry, the said corporation’s material manufacturing factory needs VNX’s technology to realize smart inspection, raising the quality of their manufactured goods and reduce human resource costs;
 
 3. China Coal Technology Engineering Group and VisionX discussed further for the co-development of a project, reaching consensus on the goals, development period, resource needed and the market size for future;
 
 4. VisionX team visits once again the Shanghai Sanyou Med — a leading orthopedic medical implant company in China. VisionX examined their products and identified their needs from the visual inspection technology to confirm the next step and commence appropriate research for the project. Both parties will work closely together to power China’s medical device industry with AI.

Technology Development 


 1. Further optimize dataset and algorithm, lower the amount of data needed for training Base Model from 500 different sets to 50 different sets (ImageNet), using the corresponding 50 sets in different industries to create a cross-industry Base Model;

2. Conducted porcelain surface defect detection model training and raising inspection rate;
 
 3. Software development wise, using YOLO algorithm to conduct work goals and violation inspection at coal mines.

As the year of 2019 arrives, the development of AI is still going at a surprising speed. An all-round AI solution can effectively help traditional companies optimize their procedures, raise efficiency, lower their cost, control risks in their manufacturing environment and so on. VisionX hopes to contribute to the industrial industry in the new year to help push their developments.

VisionX and DeepBrain Chain attended Nepcon,

1. On invitation from HuBrain, VisionX and DeepBrain Chain attended the 2019 Japan International R&D and Manufacturing Electronics and Tech Conference NEPCON JAPAN 2019.

So far, HuBrain has already integrated VisionX’s AI software into its quality inspection system. HuBrain is a well-known image quality inspection specialist manufacturer in Japan and also a supplier of image inspection software to big factories working for Tesla.

HuBrain hopes to optimize AI quality inspection function with VisionX’s product and add more functions to expand their customer base.

Dev Progress

Through Dataonomy - Technology Training Can Achieve An Inspection Model That Can Be Used At Multiple Scenarios With High Accuracy

1. Based on the very little original image data provided by a Japanese porcelain manufacturer, using Dataonomy technology to complete the training of a porcelain surface defect detection model with an accuracy rate of 95%;
 
 2. Based on the very little original image data provided by a Japanese metal manufacture, using Dataonomy technology to complete training of a metal surface defect detection model, with an accuracy rate of 99%. 


Software Development


 1. The team developed surface defect detection models for metal and porcelain with a demo video shown at the NEPCON JAPAN 2019 from Jan 16th — 18th.


AI Project Collaborations


 1. Due to the collapse at Shaanxi’s Shenmu Coal mine on January 12th, VisionX has speed up the collaboration with the coal mine supervising department at Shenmu area, designing 5 AI detection function for finding out potential security risks to be developed, as well as collecting the necessary data and forming the team to complete the development. 
 
 2. Adding VisionX’s Dataonomy and image quality inspection technology into AI training courses, start training all levels of tech personnel for VIsionX’s quality control related products as part of the effort to help with VisionX’s penetration into different industries.

As we get ready to celebrate the new year, we’d like to take this opportunity to reflect on what we’ve achieved in the year of 2018. VisionX was successfully incubated and launched in 2018, and started working with multiple business partners to design, develop and deploy industry AI solutions across industries. Even though there are ups and downs in the blockchain and crypto market , VisionX continues to focus on technical development and market outreach.

We won’t be where we are without the support of our community, and we really want to thank everyone of you for your contribution to VisionX. Thanks to your participation in the Memes competition, active discussions on social media platforms, and constructive feedback to the team, VisionX keeps growing, step by step.

VisionX is invited to attend Nepcon2019, the largest Electronics R&D and Manufacturing Technology Expo from 1/16/2019 to 1/19/2019 in Japan.

Technical Development

VisionX has submitted its hardware to China Coal and Science Engineering Group to obtain the safety certificate of approval for mining products.

VisionX has met with medical device companies about developing AI solutions for recycling and sorting of medical devices. Along with hardware partners, VisionX has also discussed with clients about utilizing AI solutions to streamline the visual defect inspection of hexahedral surface during medical device manufacturing process.

Based on a Japanese manufacturing company’s data, VisionX has started developing customized AI solution for visual defect inspection.

Partnership and Investment

1. VisionX signed a strategic partnership with Anhui Sanlian University in October 2018. The two parties have recently taken a closer look at how VisionX’s AI solutions can benefit the current projects the University is working on, and agreed to start with training the model to detect whether a driver is crossing line when taking driver license test. The solution can potentially automate the detection process at 8,000+ driver license test centers.

2. Representatives from the coal mining safety department of Shenmu, Shanxi in China have recently reached out to VisionX to discuss about utilizing VisionX’s AI solution to improve coal mining safety of the 300 mines they have.

  1. VisionX attended the Blockchain + AI + IoT Expo (North America) on 11/28/2018 and 11/29/2018. As a keynote speaker of the event, Dr. Dongyan Wang, co-founder of VisinoX, introduced the project and discussed about different use cases across industries.

2. Dr. Haisong Gu, co-founder of VisionX presented the project at VieW2018 conference in Japan. VisionX has attracted a lot of attention from industry users with the need of visual defect inspection. Compared with traditional solutions that focus on easy-to-detect visual abnormity on smooth surfaces, VisionX will enable complex and cross-industry visual abnormity inspection. Also VisionX’s solutions will greatly improve the inspection accuracy. Dr. Gu and the team at VisionX has had in-depth discussions with potential customer from various industries such as steel, automotive, agriculture, and chip manufacturing.

Community

  1. The memes competition in the VisionX community is coming to an end. The community members have voted for their favorite memes, and the winners will be awarded with VNX tokens. Our creative community members have created a lot of fun and interactive memes for VisionX.

  2. During the holiday season, some of the VisionX community members have shared their creative holiday decors infused with VisionX mission. Telegram user John Ross has shared the festive mason jar lighting he made, and we want to thank him and the community for their continuous support of VisionX!

R&D

  1. We improved base model training efficiency of visual defect inspection (Dataonomy) by decreasing the required number of dataset from 500K to 50K. When tested on two different types of visual defect inspection with the base model trained with the improved dataset, the accuracy rate was 100% for both.

  2. From software development side, we improved object tracking and estimation via YOLO.

  3. We met with a variety of hardware providers at the VieW2018 conference, and will explore further partnership with those providers in hardware development and turnkey solution development.

Partnership and Investment

  1. VisionX continues to partner with China Coal Technology & Engineering Group Corp. to build smart coal mining strategies. VisionX will start with coal blockage inspection by implementing its AI solution to increase the inspection accuracy while reducing the labor cost and safety hazard.

  2. Japan-China AI·IoT Industry Alliance will partner with VisionX to promote AI training in Japan and help the local companies and workforce to learn and apply AI technologies.

Dear VisionX Community,

Welcome to the first ever VisionX progress report. We will be detailing our most recent and major developments, including partnerships, exchange listings, technical development, community reward programs and more.

VisionX is the first killer AI app incubated in the DECO (decentralized AI ecosystem of DeepBrain Chain and DeepToken Exchange). VisionX utilizes a vast and ever‐expanding dataset to provide cross‐industry AI solutions with greater accuracy, efficiency and cost‐effectiveness (boasting savings of up to 30%) than traditional counterparts.

Our current focus is on visual defect inspection, with our patent‐pending Dataonomy algorithms developed to allow industries such as electronics, textiles, furniture, steel, mining, automobile and display to benefit from emergent technological advancements. Our aim is to expand our reach to incorporate predictive maintenance, pick and place robotics, data curation, cross industry exhibition planning and much more. VisionX Improves on the Accuracy of Tesla’s Battery Defect Inspection

The defect detection technology that is currently being used by one of Tesla’s battery providers in Japan was an invention of Dr. Haisong Gu, Chief Technical Officer of VisionX. With VisionX’s latest AI developments, traditional battery defect detection technology will be replaced by a more efficient, accurate and cost‐effective AI detection solution.

VisionX signs formal cooperation with China State‐Owned Mining Conglomerate

The China Coal and Science Engineering Group Co., Ltd. (Changzhou) central enterprise signed a strategic cooperation agreement with VisionX, one of our first DECO incubated projects. The group consists of the China Coal International Engineering Research Institute and the General Coal Research Institute of China National Coal Research Co, Ltd. The two central enterprises merged together as a conglomerate for increased expedience, financial support and efficiency in 2008. The enterprise has over 5000 coal mines currently in operation and functions under the direct supervision of the State-owned and backed Assets Supervision and Administration Council Commission. As an active enterprise with substantial financial support and revenue, their involvement with VisionX is extremely exciting news.

As one aspect of the partnership, VisionX will develop visual inspection technology with tailored solutions for mining operations. Within the next three years, the current system of manual inspection is expected to be replaced by the AI visual inspection technology developed by VisionX, providing drastically increased accuracy and efficiency to a major industry pressure point and opening up avenues for serious financial alleviation with its cost‐effective solutions.

VisionX strives to predict, or otherwise identify in a timely manner, abnormal or sub‐optimal conditions with respect to operations. Utilizing deep‐learning, as compared to the traditional digitalized data network, it will be able to predict or report the abnormal data such as coal transport belt anomalies and data regarding underground gas, then provide this information directly to operation managers, improving operation efficiency and safety and reducing risk of halts in production required to either to discover or solve operational issues.

VisionX Reaches Agreement with Huaibei Normal University to Promote Big Data Analysis for Development of Cancer Treatments

As one of the first users of the DeepBrain Chain platform, Huaibei Normal University has recently coordinated an agreement with VisionX to to utilize our Artificial Intelligence solutions in conjunction with DeepBrain Chain’s computing platform to efficiently and accurately analyze breast cancer treatment options.

DeepBrain Chain’s Silicon Valley Lab Receives Two Significant Strategic Investments

On November 10th, DeepBrain Chain’s Silicon Valley Lab reported that it has received two significant strategic investments. One by an undisclosed European-American giant, and the other by established and renowned Gobi Venture Capital operating out of seven offices around the globe.

The investments will assist the development of both DeepBrain Chain and, as an incubated project of the Silicon Valley lab, VisionX.

VisionX and DeepBrain Chain Partner with Ebiztie

On the 7th of November, VisionX, DeepBrain Chain and Ebiztie, Inc. announced a strategic partnership. We will be engaged in a joint effort to improve the R&D effectiveness of Taobase, an Ebiztie company, by leveraging the decentralized artificial intelligent (AI) computing platform developed by DeepBrain Chain, the AI+blockchain company that incubated VisionX. VisionX and Ebiztie will also work together to improve cross-country collaboration between AI companies and small and medium sized manufacturing companies with the development of smart contract technologies in industry AI.

VisionX and DeepBrain Chain Sign Cooperation Agreement with Japan SBF Consulting Co., Ltd.

SBF Consulting Co., Ltd. recently signed a cooperation agreement with VisionX and DeepBrain Chain to jointly promote the application of both project’s innovative technologies in Japanese companies, thereby assisting in the acceleration of the transition into Industry 4.0

VisionX has begun listing on its first exchanges. With a slight delay on the Houbi Cloud implementation for DeepToken Exchange, VisionX has listed on several exchanges beforehand.

VisionX GDIS 2018 Speech

Chief AI Officer Dr. Dongyan Wang and Chief Technical Officer Dr. Haisong Gu presented VisionX at GDIS 2018 in Silicon Valley. Speaking to a crowd of industry experts and enthusiasts, VisionX premiered a live demo of its visual inspection technology, demonstrating its ability to save tremendous amounts of money across multiple industries with its increased accuracy and reduced cost as compared to traditional methods of visual inspection. Dr. Wang and Dr. Gu also discussed the ultimate vision of the company, and detailed its plans to tap into various needs across industries for the application of emergent technology to provide solutions to areas that can benefit greatly from innovation in the coming era of Industry 4.0.

VisionX holds X-Hub Meet-up and Showcases the Project’s Innovative Technology

On November 9th, VisionX hosted a meet-up in Silicon Valley wherein they discussed the latest trends of Artificial Intelligence and blockchain technology with enthusiasts and experts. The VisionX team demonstrated VisionX’s drastically improved efficiency and cost-effectiveness as compared to competitors, highlighting the particular pressure points the technology can alleviate across multiple industries.

From November 9th of November 11th, the DeepBrain Chain Silicon Valley lab brought VisionX to the 2018 AI Frontier Conference. Showcasing the project to to world-class AI companies and esteemed universities, VisionX took the opportunity to demonstrate the innovative technologies multitude of applications to investors and enthusiasts alike.

VisionX Technological Development

⦁ Defect inspection algorithm Dataonomy was used to create a high-precision, customized model for steel and coal conveyor belt defect inspection for customers in the steel and coal industries.

⦁ By balancing the size of each data set, the basic modeling method and computational efficiency of Dataonomy is improved.

⦁ VisionX designed a method for conveyor belt jam and pipe anomaly detection for mines to improve efficiency of visual inspection technology. In response to the requirements of partners and a number of coal companies, VisionX detailed research plans for gas monitoring and early warning systems were formulated to assist coal mines in conducting safety warnings and reducing accident rates.

⦁ VisionX team will develop the first version of the online defect detection product to support future customers’ confirmation of defects remotely.

⦁ The VisionX technical paper was submitted to the Japan Computer Vision Conference (View2018) and received a high evaluation from the conference review panel. It is scheduled to be officially released on December 7th.

VisionX Addresses Community Directly in Two Broadcasts Directed at our Chinese Community

On the 28th of October, VisionX CTO Dr. Haisong Gu and Senior Operations Manager, Kahlen, held a live broadcast for our Chinese audience to discuss technical aspects of VisionX as well as immediate development plans.

On November 2nd, VisionX CAO Dr. Dongyan Wang and Senior Operations Manager, Kahlen, presented to our Chinese community via live broadcast on TokenClub. Dr. Wang also discussed technical aspects of the project, our vision for the application of the technology across multiple industries worldwide, and the way in which we aim to achieve said vision.

Both broadcasts attracted a large amount of attention and interaction, and we received a lot of positive sentiment from our Chinese community.
